Makes: 1 serving

INGREDIENTS:

1/2 cup (125 mL) unsweetened vanilla almond milk
2 tbsp (30 mL) No Yolking™ – 100 % Egg White Protein Powder
2 tbsp (30 mL) unsweetened cocoa powder 
2 tbsp (30 mL) Swerve brown sugar replacement  
2 tsp (10 mL) *Gingerbread Spice Blend
1 tsp (5 mL) vanilla extract
Pinch salt
1 1/4 cups (300 mL) boiling water
1 tbsp (15 mL) liquid coconut oil or MCT oil

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Pour milk into a blender. Add protein powder, cocoa powder, sugar, spice belnd and vanilla. Mix on low speed until well combined. 
  2. Pour in some of the boiling water and oil; blend for 1 minute. Add remaining boiling water and blend until frothy. Pour into mug. Sprinkle additional spices on top before serving. 

 

Tips: 

  • Enjoy this recipe or any of our hot protein lattes for breakfast to feel fueled and satisfied all morning long. It’s also a great option for an afternoon pick-me-up! 
  • Turn this hot chocolate into a mocha by adding 1 oz (30 mL) freshly brewed espresso to the mug before pouring in the blender mixture. 

 

*Gingerbread Spice Blend: 

3 tbsp (45 mL) ground cinnamon
2 tbsp (30 mL) ground ginger
1 tsp (5 mL) each ground allspice, cloves and nutmeg
1/4 tsp (1 mL) each  ground cardamom and black pepper
