If you’re looking for a new easy recipe to add to your weeknight rotation, look no further! These delicious turkey patties come together quickly, are perfect for batch-cooking and freezing and they make great leftovers for the lunch box. The patties are made with lean turkey, cubed crisp apple and earthy sage. Plus, we’ve added more than a serving of No Yolking™ 100 % Egg White Protein Powder which really amps up the lean protein in each patty. ⁠⁠Serve over leafy greens such as arugula, baby kale and spinach with roasted squash then finish with sunflower and pumpkin seeds for a little crunch.

Makes: 4 to 6 servings

INGREDIENTS:

1/3 cup (75 mL) No Yolking™ – 100 % Egg White Protein Powder
2 tbsp (30 mL) dried crumbled sage leaves
2 tsp (10 mL) Dijon mustard
1 tsp (5 mL) each onion and garlic powder
3/4 tsp (4 mL) each sea salt and pepper
1 lb (500 g) lean ground turkey or chicken
1 apple, finely chopped
2 tbsp (30 mL) olive oil 

Sauce:
1/4 cup (60 mL) maple syrup
1/4 cup (60 mL) Dijon mustard
2 tbsp (30 mL) olive oil
1 tbsp (15 mL) apple cider vinegar
1 small clove garlic, minced
1/4 tsp (1 mL) each salt and pepper

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. In a large bowl, combine protein powder, sage, mustard, onion powder, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Add turkey and apple; mix gently and thoroughly. Let stand for 5 minutes; form into six patties. 
  2. Heat oil in a large non-stick skillet set over medium-high heat. Add patties and reduce heat to medium. Cook the patties for 4 to 6 minutes per side, flipping only one to two times, or until cooked through. 
  3. Sauce: Meanwhile, combine maple syrup, mustard, oil, vinegar, garlic, salt and pepper in a glass jar. Secure with a tight-fitting lid and shake until well combined. Serve with patties. 

 

Tip: Alternatively, grill these patties and serve as burgers on lettuce leaves or on our No Yolking™ Egg White Protein Buns.
